This Privacy Policy explains how ASPECTA CINEMA PTY LTD collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use Aspecta Cinema Player.
1. Introduction
Aspecta Cinema Player ("Aspecta," "we," "us," or "our") is an Android TV / Google TV video player application designed for use with compatible media library and playback source apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you when you use the app.

- the Aspecta Cinema Player Android TV / Google TV app;
- our subscription verification and entitlement services; and
- related support communications.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to:
- third-party apps that launch or hand off content to Aspecta;
- third-party streaming, file-hosting, cloud storage, or media library services;
- Google Play, Google Play Billing, Firebase, Google Cloud, or other third-party services acting under their own privacy policies.
3. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or process the following categories of information.
A. Subscription and purchase information
- Google Play purchase token
- subscription product identifier
- purchase status, entitlement status, and expiry-related information
- limited server-side verification data returned by Google Play or our backend systems
We use this information to confirm whether you have access to paid features.
B. App and device information
- app version
- device model
- operating system version
- supported device capabilities relevant to playback compatibility
- basic app state or error information related to subscription verification or playback stability
C. Media source and playback-related information
Aspecta may receive file paths, content URIs, stream URLs, or playback intents from compatible third-party apps or local/network sources in order to open and play media on your device. As a general rule, media source information is processed on-device for playback. We do not intentionally upload your video content to our servers solely to play it.
D. Support information
If you contact us for help, we may collect:
- your email address;
- the information you include in your message;
- screenshots, logs, or diagnostic details you choose to send us.
4. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- the contents of your videos for analytics or advertising purposes;
- precise location information;
- contacts, messages, photos, or microphone data;
- personal profiles for advertising;
- payment card numbers, which are handled by Google Play and related payment providers, not by us directly.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide the app’s core playback functionality;
- verify subscriptions and determine entitlement to paid features;
- restore purchases;
- maintain app security and prevent fraud or unauthorized access;
- diagnose bugs, compatibility issues, and support problems;
- improve app stability, device compatibility, and user experience;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable under privacy law, we process information on one or more of the following bases:
- to perform our contract with you, including providing app features and verifying paid access;

7. How Subscription Verification Works
To enable paid features, the app may send subscription-related information, including a Google Play purchase token, to our backend verification service. Our backend may then verify subscription status with Google Play and return entitlement information or a signed playback authorization to the app.
This process helps us:
- confirm that a subscription is valid;
- restore purchases; and
- protect paid features from unauthorized access or abuse.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information with the following categories of service providers or platforms when necessary to operate the app:
- Google Play / Google Play Billing for purchase processing, subscription lifecycle handling, and entitlement verification.
- Google Cloud / Firebase services for backend subscription verification, secure secret handling, and related cloud infrastructure.
- Technical service providers as reasonably necessary to operate the service.
- Legal or compliance disclosures if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
9. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing app functionality, verifying and restoring subscriptions, resolving disputes or support requests, and complying with legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations. Some entitlement or verification-related data may be cached on-device to support app operation and restore flows.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures may include encrypted local storage, secure transport, backend access controls, and signed entitlement or verification mechanisms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
Depending on your location and the third-party infrastructure used to operate the app, information may be processed in countries other than your own. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions, subject to applicable safeguards where required.
12. Third-Party Services
Aspecta may interact with third-party services, including:
- Google Play;
- Google Play Billing;
- Firebase / Google Cloud;
- third-party apps that hand off media to Aspecta; and
- third-party media servers, library apps, or content providers you choose to use.

13. Children’s Privacy
Aspecta Cinema Player is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it where required.
14. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- request access to information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of information, where applicable;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Aspecta does not currently require users to create a direct in-app account with us in order to use core functionality. If that changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required account-deletion controls.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice where required. Your continued use of the app after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
